BUILT-UP ROOFING
With built-up roofing systems, the highly reliable waterproof membrane is field fabricated with layers of bitumen, alternating with plies of reinforcing felts. The redundant layers give it exceptional resistance to water and weather. Johns Manville has been a leader in BUR with 150 years of experience. We manufacture a complete line of fiber glass felts, including ply and base felts, and mineral surfaced cap sheets.
BUR surfacing materials can be coated with paint or other reflective materials to reduce the effects of UV radiation. These coatings provide the additional benefit of reducing cooling and heating costs.
Multiple layers provide a redundancy of protection
Metal roofing offers ultra-performance in conditions of water, ice shedding and snow and is hail resistant.
